Nino Frassica, Italy's most beloved comedian, will also be speaking at the opening of the exhibition LOOk&ALLUCC, by journalist Gabriele Bojano, on Wednesday, December 18th at 6:30 pm in the CAMERA CHIARA gallery and studio at Via da Procida 9, in the historic center of Salerno. The exhibition, which is open until December 23rd, features fifteen panels, featuring a selection of the most curious images of extravagant outfits from the hundreds posted on social media over the past three years. "Calling it an exhibition is a bit pretentious," explains Bojano. "It's more of a small and harmless divertissement, a sort of sociological treatise in images on what we've become by following the trends and models imposed by consumerism." "The common thread running through these images," adds Armando Cerzosimo, art photographer and owner of the exhibition space, "is the demand for attention from the subjects, mostly photographed unknowingly, from behind. It's like a scream trying to break through the curtain of indifference we're all wrapped up in."
The divertissement exhibition is organized in collaboration with Banca Monte Pruno and the Municipality of Salerno. Once again - says the director of Banca Monte Pruno Michele Albanese - our bank stands alongside those who, with professionalism and care, believe in the valorization of art and culture in its many forms. Our role is also this, to feed the cultural circuit, not failing to provide support that serves to give energy in an area that is increasingly, despite ourselves, forgotten by those who should put it at the center of society. For us, the principle that investing in culture is knowing how to invest will always apply". The inaugural evening will see the presence of radio entertainer Pippo Pelo, among others. On Friday 20th at 19 pm a conference on "What is trash, what is kitsch?" will be held. Speakers will include university professors Paolo Apolito and Anna Bisogno, professor Francesca Federico, who has organized exhibition events on the topic, and actor and cultural entertainer Claudio Tortora. The finissage on December 23rd (19pm) is expected to feature Santino Fiorillo, fresh from the success of the TV program “Io e te” with Pierluigi Diaco.
