Maximum attention is being paid to the entire Campania region due to the severe weather, and the regional Civil Protection operations room is already coordinating local interventions to support municipalities and firefighters, where requested. Currently, the most difficult situations have been recorded in Giugliano, due to the blockage of the mouth of Lago Patria and consequent flooding of the surrounding area; in Castellammare di Stabia, due to the collapse of a pedestrian bridge over the Sarno River; between the municipalities of Cervinara and Rotondi in Irpinia, due to the flooding of the Isclero-Carmignano River near the ASI (Italian Transport Authority) highway; and in Roccamonfina, due to shallow landslides in Sessa, Marzano, Conca, Teano, and Campagnola. The regional Civil Protection Department has sent technicians from the Avellino Civil Engineering Corps to Cervinara, in close coordination with the mayor, while an intervention by the SMA Campania is underway in Lago Patria. In Castellammare, technicians from the Naples Civil Engineering Department are supporting the firefighters who secured the small bridge. The regional civil protection system is fully operational. All structures are activated to support the competent authorities. Municipalities are urged to "maintain all measures aimed at preventing and responding to the current events throughout tomorrow, in line with their respective civil protection plans." It is essential to monitor public structures exposed to wind and wave action, particularly Christmas lights, in addition to the usual displays (signage, public green spaces, docks).
