Following the severe damage reported on the Amalfi Coast due to the recent bad weather, Codacons announced in a statement that it will file a formal complaint tomorrow with the Salerno Public Prosecutor's Office against the Campania Region, alleging abuse of office. The association's complaint focuses on the distribution of public funds to local authorities for safety purposes. The Campania Region's arbitrary awarding of scores has resulted in the failure to fund projects related to very urgent interventions, such as those in Cetara and Tramonti, municipalities that have just recently suffered landslides, flooding, and other extensive damage due to severe weather, posing serious risks to the local population. These damages could very likely have been avoided had the Region funded the projects submitted by the two municipalities. For this reason, Codacons will file a complaint tomorrow for abuse of office against the Campania Region in relation to the damage reported in the last few hours on the Amalfi Coast.
