A 23-year-old man with no prior criminal record, originally from Cava de' Tirreni, has been sentenced to one year and four months in prison, with a suspended sentence. He was charged with possession of narcotics, according to a check conducted on October 4, 2016, by the local Carabinieri station. He had both hashish and marijuana in his possession, which led to his being listed as a suspect in a file with the Nocera Inferiore prosecutor's office.
The soldiers stopped him at a routine checkpoint, for a check. Hidden in the car, they then found two cellophane bags containing marijuana. As required by law, the checks then also extended to his home, with the discovery of ten grams of hashish hidden in a fanny pack and a small cannabis plant on the bedroom balcony. Inside, also some cannabis seeds. The boy pleaded guilty to his sentence, at the end of the preliminary hearing.
