The finance police of the Provincial Command of Naples have seized a clandestine factory in the Avellino area, located on the ground floor of a residential building, perfectly equipped with textile machinery used for marking and packaging clothing and accessories with counterfeit brands of the most famous fashion brands.
The investigations, conducted by the Economic and Financial Police Unit, started from some suspicious shipments of goods carried out through the most well-known international couriers and, thanks to an initial seizure carried out in the Naples area, they allowed the entire "production" chain to be traced, identifying the laboratory in Monteforte Irpino (AV).
In particular, the specialists of the Goods and Services Market Protection Group of the same PEF Unit, inside the "company" that was unknown to the Tax Office, discovered heat presses for marking originally "neutral" clothing items with counterfeit logos, industrial packaging machinery and an office complete with a computer station used to manage a lucrative online trade in counterfeit clothing.
Orders were collected via social networks and the sample of counterfeit goods for sale, which were produced in the same factory, was also published on the Internet.
The products were then shipped throughout Italy via express courier only after receiving the proceeds via pre-paid credit card top-ups.
At the same time, 1.300 items of clothing and accessories, 15.800 heat-adhesive transfers and fabric and metal labels bearing counterfeit logos and brands of the main national and international fashion houses (“Adidas”, “Gucci”, “Dsquared”, “Dolce e Gabbana” “LV” “Nike” “Emporio Armani”, “Fila”, “Levis”, “Vans”, “Chanel”; “Kappa” and “Givency”) were seized, as well as 2.250 “neutral” items of clothing ready to be branded and packaged, with a total value of over 130.000 euros.
At the end of the operation, 4 people responsible for receiving, producing and selling counterfeit items were reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Avellino.
The action of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples to combat counterfeiting continues without stopping, aimed at dismantling the counterfeit supply chain and removing supply channels, thus protecting the free functioning of the market, honest entrepreneurs and consumers.
