They fled, abandoning a stolen car and two universal ignition control units. It happened in Mugnano di Napoli and it was thanks to the signal from the satellite anti-theft device that the Carabinieri of the Melito branch were alerted to a theft in progress. When they arrived in via Sansone, the soldiers saw two people who were trying to tamper with the control unit of a parked car. The criminals ran away, along with their accomplice who was waiting for them on board another car that had been stolen days ago in Marano.
When the Carabinieri inspected the abandoned car they found 2 control units and burglary tools.
The car will be returned to its rightful owner, but not before undergoing technical checks to verify the presence of fingerprints left by the fugitives.
