A fatal accident occurred last night, around 2:30 a.m., in Capezzano Pianore, a hamlet of Camaiore in Versilia, in the province of Lucca. The victim is a local 16-year-old, Dario D'Alessandro, an Italian under-18 finswimming champion. According to reports, the boy, while riding his scooter along Via Sarzanese, first struck a car in front of him and then crashed into a wall. The Misericordia emergency medical vehicle and the Carabinieri responded to the scene. It appears the victim was returning home after an evening spent with friends in Pietrasanta.
