Massimo Volume returned on February 1st with an album that won over both critics and audiences. "Il nuoto" (The Swimmer), released by 42 Records (Cosmo, I Cani, Colapesce, Andrea Laszlo De Simone, and many others), is a vibrant, unique album. It's the perfect blend of the band's early works, those that in some way contributed to the creation of Italy's alternative music culture, and their most recent releases. These are the albums released after their 2010 reunion, which established Massimo Volume as one of the most unique and inimitable voices on the national music scene. This is thanks to an original formula that combines the spoken word and unmistakable voice of Emidio Clementi, a masterful narrator and proud bard of defeat, with the post-punk textures provided by Egle Sommacal's electric guitar and Vittoria Burattini's drums.
And so after having sold out theaters all over Italy during the spring part of the tour and having continued to grace the stages of the biggest and most important summer festivals alone or with Giardini di Mirò, they finally land in their most congenial dimension, that of live clubs. So forget about the seats, this time they're back to pushing seriously. Massimo Volume, supported live by Sara Ardizzoni's second guitar, will bring the songs from "Il nuotore" to the stage together with the best of their past repertoire. So expect surprises, unexpected repechages and a renewed setlist. But it doesn't end there: at the same time as the new tour, the Bologna-based band announces for the next few months the release of "Stanze", their historic first album, published by Underground Records, which for the first time will land on digital platforms and will also be republished on CD and in a luxurious limited vinyl edition curated by 42 Records. A real vinyl box that, in addition to the remastered version from the original tapes of the album (work carried out by Giacomo Fiorenza, also the producer of “Il nuoto,” and Andrea Suriani), will also contain a live document dating back to the “Stanze” tour and which will be published for the first time on vinyl.
Massimo Volume's concert will be preceded by EPO's. The Neapolitan band, led by composer and singer Ciro Tuzzi, will perform "Enea" (SoundFly), their latest album that blends Neapolitan tradition with an international sound, featuring Roy Paci on wind instruments and Rodrigo D'Erasmo (Afterhours) on strings.
