The Christmas holidays should represent, in theory, a time of family gatherings and intimacy, but also an opportunity to find time to share with your partner, who during the year, busy with the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we usually neglect.
This is in theory, because Christmas and New Year's represent the best occasions to further strengthen relationships with your lover, perhaps met online.
The website Tradimenti Italiani confirms this, as it is part of one of the most populated communities among Italians (over 75.691 members) for extramarital encounters (accesses to the platform almost double during this holiday period).
But which are the cities where cheating happens the most? It is the founder of the community, Luca Mancini, who reveals the curiosity:
“Rome is the city from which the greatest number of accesses to our portal originate in the month of December, especially in the days immediately preceding Christmas and New Year's. But not only that: we can confirm that the connections to the community actually double. The reason?
Chat is the ideal tool for cheating, people rush to further tighten their relationship with their lover, they exchange greetings and even organize clandestine meetings in the month of January, which remains the favorite occasion for cheating”.
The Christmas holidays become, therefore, the ideal excuse not only to further solidify the relationship with the lover, but it is the best time to meet other people. The saying "at Christmas we are all better" translates into the predisposition to weave new relationships with others, regardless of what type of nature they are.
But not only Rome, according to the extramarital dating site Tradimenti Italiani: online adultery is seeing a peak in other unsuspected cities, as well as in the usual metropolises such as Milan, Naples, and Turin.
Veneto, Emilia-Romagna, Puglia and Sicily are, in fact, the regions where adultery becomes a very strong temptation. Luca Mancini explains:
“Venice, Ravenna, Lecce and Ragusa are the cities (but they are not the only ones) from which we have registered the greatest interest in our portal and this is a very interesting fact, because in general it has always been believed that virtual betrayal was mainly the prerogative of cities with a higher population density.

Let's dispel this myth, then.
Temptation is always accepted subjectively without being influenced by the place and the event. Even holidays such as Christmas and New Year's Eve are not exempt from the game of seduction, indeed paradoxically they become an enticing circumstance to demonstrate interest in other people.
But what is the reason?
Precisely when family commitments are most pressing, we tend to desire “escape”, especially on days that are emotionally more charged with expectations and novelties”.
Christmas and New Year's are holidays to be experienced with the family, of course, but they are always a good opportunity to show attention to someone other than your partner.
Online chats remain a powerful tool to use, especially when it comes to fleeting greetings, which are often exchanged by activating the webcam from the office after work hours:
“The days immediately preceding Christmas, but especially a few minutes before the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Day, are our community’s favorite.
The accesses to our chat for married people are increasing dramatically, we can easily imagine the use that is made of it, even if very quickly, thanks to the possibility of seeing each other online via webcam. The hottest time? From 18 to 19:30 pm, while on December 31st around 23 pm”.
In short, the holidays are not just dedicated to the family: it is said "Christmas comes but once a year; those who do not take advantage of it, everything goes to their detriment" and never was a saying more true!
