In recent days, a "High Impact" operation was conducted in the Vomero neighborhood in the areas of Piazza Immacolata, Piazza Vanvitelli, Via Aniello Falcone, Via Scarlatti, Via Luca Giordano (pedestrian area), Piazza Leonardo, and Piazzale San Martino. The operation, coordinated by the Vomero Police Station with the support of teams from the Crime Prevention Units of Piedmont, Liguria, Sardinia, and Campania, led to the identification of 529 people, 98 of whom had criminal records. 269 vehicles were checked, including 48 motorcycles; 11 traffic violations were reported: two for vehicles lacking insurance, which were administratively seized; two for failure to have periodic inspections; one for an expired license; and three violations for failure to have inspections. In Piazzale San Martino, where groups of young people are subjected to particularly intense checks, a minor, accompanied by two other youths, was found in possession of a switchblade with a blade over 7 centimeters long. The weapon was seized, and the three youths were released to their parents. Additionally, on Via Sergio Abate, two illegal parking attendants were caught and fined under Article 7, paragraph 15-bis of the Highway Code. Finally, 12 people were checked and subjected to prevention and safety measures.
