“The municipal administration would do well to identify and prosecute the offenders, where instead there is a lack of the necessary controls in this regard – continues Capodanno -. In fact, I believe that the penalties should be made harsher, also imposing the closure of the business, in addition to the payment of heavy financial sanctions”.
“As for the real winter sales season, which in Naples, as in all of Campania, will officially begin on January 4th, we would not like to see what consumers have already reported in previous years regarding the presence of warehouse stock, unsold items and defective items – continues Capodanno -. In this regard, we ask that the relevant bodies implement all the necessary initiatives to protect consumers, including through a real observatory, with a toll-free number to which reports can be forwarded, verifying the validity of sales with discounts that could appear excessive and suspicious. Furthermore, sample surveys should be carried out on businesses that display sales that exceed the maximum value of 40% “.
