“With the closure of the health area that occurred after the intervention of the NAS for the unsustainable hygienic conditions, the Terme di Agnano have probably hit rock bottom in terms of management”. This was stated by the president of the Transparency commission of the city council, Domenico Palmieri. In a note he said: “A thermal site of tourist, naturalistic, archaeological interest, which could be the classic golden goose for the Municipality of Naples, has been in agony for years that has dragged on in general disinterest. The company was placed into liquidation by the council in 2016 and placed in the hands of a liquidator who in practice does not have to account to anyone for his activity, after the company rental project also failed miserably with the inevitable trail of legal disputes. In the meantime, the spa has lost around four million euros during the administration alone and the capital is heading towards zero. The crazy plan to sell off the entire complex, a real sell-off of an incalculable asset, has also foundered due to a lack of interlocutors." "With the closure of the health department," Palmieri concluded, "the company risks losing its last asset, namely the agreement with the national health system that ensures a minimum income. The disaster is complete: the members of the de Magistris administration should not dare to find yet another scapegoat for a failure that can be attributed entirely to the political and managerial incapacity of the shareholder, the Municipality of Naples."
