Naples, the overflowing Miano judicial warehouse risks becoming an ecological bomb

The judicial warehouse in the Miano district of Naples has been overflowing with vehicles for years, so much so that there is no longer any space to accommodate new ones. "This is an absurd situation that absolutely must be addressed so that we can find answers, and therefore solutions, including those regarding the environmental impact of such a situation, which could turn into an ecological bombshell. Furthermore, this could become an implicit invitation to break the law. We need to initiate new procedures for the seizure and removal of vehicles, using new tow trucks, including private ones, and allowing the municipality to resell cars and scooters if the owners don't collect them and pay fines and deposits within a reasonable timeframe. The inaction of recent years, caused also by the Prefecture of Naples, has produced two negative results: the first is that the seizures of cars and motorcycles have been few, creating an implicit authorization for citizens to break the law, and the second is the loss of revenue from fines and seizures for municipalities and the central government. A disaster that bears the hallmark of the worst bureaucracy," declared Francesco Emilio Borrelli, Regional Councilor for the Greens.
