“A pool of prosecutors specialized in combating assaults committed inside hospitals, hospital facilities and emergency rooms has arrived at the Naples Prosecutor's Office. Since the beginning of the year, there have been over one hundred episodes of violence inside healthcare facilities in the Naples area, but not only that. This is a serious problem that afflicts the entire region and often keeps doctors and healthcare personnel apprehensive. The Prosecutor's Office's decision is a first step towards eradicating the scourge, but it is not enough to solve the problem. With the Greens, we have been waging a fierce battle for years now to demand greater protection for those who work for our health. The only viable path, in our opinion, is the installation of police stations inside emergency rooms. A squad of law enforcement officers is an effective deterrent for those who arrive at the hospital and allows hotheads to be instantly caught. This is another proposal that we will present to Interior Minister Luciana Lamorgese on Monday”. This was stated by Francesco Emilio Borrelli, regional councilor of the Greens and member of the Health Commission.
