The characterizing element of Napoli Milionaria is neomelodic music, the much maligned subculture that the upper class and the counter-culture have always seen with a mix of contempt and irony. Musically, Napoli Milionaria have developed the definitive mix by bringing together (consciously?) the popular and common subculture with the national popular model that rides the hype of hip hop and urban, becoming a deadly Neapolitan mix.
The visionary aesthetics of Napoli Milionaria is evident in the new video clip curated by directors Gianfranco Antacido and Antimo Campanile (Alaska Film). The story photographs the absolute Christian faith towards the Patron Saint, between superstition and sacrilege, sacred and profane. These are the typical ingredients that characterize the myth of the Miracle of San Gennaro. A secret Naples, a forbidden treasure – this and more – are discovered by the young protagonists of the clip. Finally, Vesuvius transformed into a symbol of revolution through the final explosion.
