On the afternoon of Boxing Day, the Carabinieri of the Naples group's mobile radio unit arrested a 27-year-old with no criminal record, originally from Nigeria and resident in Villa di Briano, for resisting and insulting a public official as well as spending counterfeit money.
The military intervened in via Padre Rocco, where some citizens had reported a dangerous individual who was threatening passers-by with a large knife with a 20-centimeter blade and damaging a parked van.
Once there, the carabinieri ordered him to drop the weapon: the 27-year-old dropped it on the ground and ran away; the soldiers chased him, while they blocked him the boy pushed them to regain his escape but was immobilized and handcuffed.
Then the carabinieri recovered the knife, seizing it. During the personal search, they also found a counterfeit 27 euro note on the 50-year-old, which was also seized. The arrested man is awaiting trial with a direct trial.
