Tragedy was narrowly avoided in Ponticelli due to yesterday's severe weather. A large pine tree fell in the schoolyard of the 88th Petrone district on Via Manlio Rossi Doria. The falling tree hit the power pole, which also fell in the schoolyard. Fortunately, no one was inside. On nearby Viale Carlo Miranda, the storm knocked out the fiber optic hub, causing internet delays. There was also minor damage to the recently installed video surveillance cameras, while on Via Luca Pacioli, a street sign collapsed.
