Gennaro Capodanno, engineer, president of the Comitato Valori collinari, former president of the Vomero District, who, during these Christmas holidays, is once again personally following the long-standing and emblematic events of Villa Floridiana, the only public green park available to the approximately 50 thousand residents of the Vomero neighborhood, closed to the public since December 23, confirms the new date of the protest flash mob, which will take place on Saturday January 4, at 12:00, in front of the gates of Via Cimarosa.
"Hopes that the park and the adjoining Duca di Martina museum can be reopened soon are now slim to the bone - underlines Capodanno-. It is true that yesterday, on the website of the Polo museale della Campania the following was reported: "With the authorization of the Director of the Duca di Martina Museum and Floridiana Park, the park and museum are being closed due to the fall of large trees on the central lawn and in the main avenues until the conditions of the places are restored", a wording that today has been replaced by the following: "Since December 23, the Museum and Floridiana Park have been closed to the public due to the fall of tall trees. They will be reopened as soon as the necessary safety checks have been carried out", which would suggest the possibility that, once the safety checks have been carried out, the park and museum could be reopened to the public without waiting for the "restoration of the state of the places" which would obviously require much more time but, at the moment, it is not even possible to make predictions on the times of intervention and date of reopening to the public, in the absence of any information on the matter.

"In truth - Capodanno points out - from what could be observed this morning, even if only from the outside, there were no people working with the appropriate equipment to carry out the checks in question and therefore the possibility of reopening soon remains only a distant and unlikely hope. Hence the decision to confirm the flash mob, even after having listened to the justified protests of many citizens who also this morning, on a beautiful day with spring temperatures, remained outside the gates: elderly people, children accompanied by their mothers, entire families but also numerous tourists who went up to Vomero to admire the wonderful and unique collections of ceramics kept in the rooms of the Duca di Martina museum, all united by the disappointment and anger at the sudden closure of the park ".

Meanwhile, Capodanno himself confirms that he has forwarded a protest note addressed to both the Minister for Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, Hon. Dario Franceschini, and to the director of the Campania Museum Center, Dr. Anna Imponente, awaiting a response to the many questions asked, a note that in the next few hours will also be sent to the President of the Campania Regional Council, the Mayor of Naples and other city authorities, hoping for their immediate intervention on the matter, inviting them, at the same time, to participate in the flash mob on January 4th.
