Lights, art, music, dance, schools, crafts, food, a living nativity scene, a concert by Ivan Granatino, guaranteed fun with Gerardo Amarante's racy bingo, and, for the first time, markets at Alagno Castle. This and much more is part of the calendar of events organized by the Municipality in collaboration with local associations, which began December 10th and ends January 6th. The Christmas calendar includes two projects in particular: "The Magic of Christmas: Artist Lights Illuminate Somma Vesuviana," which ranked ninth in the entire Province of Naples out of approximately 200 submitted projects (a total of €30,000, including lights, markets at the Castle, and LED lamps). Another project, funded by the Naples Chamber of Commerce, is a €25,000 grant presented to the Municipality by Aicast Somma Vesuviana (led by Crescenzo De Falco) and specifically by the company "Mimmo Eventi." "This year, without using municipal funds, we've managed to organize many events to please both adults and children," commented Mayor Salvatore Di Sarno. "We've been able to make the most of the funding made available by supra-municipal entities for this purpose, and I thank the councilor, the offices, and the associations that supported us for their commitment. Of course, everything can be improved, and some delays this year teach us what we need to focus on so as not to repeat the same mistake next year. But I'm confident that my fellow citizens will appreciate the events planned and will experience them with us, making Christmas what it truly is: a time of sharing." Floriana Pirozzi, Councilor for Entertainment and Culture, was also pleased: "The Christmas events were organized with the utmost responsibility, capping off a productive year of activities that saw a series of events that attracted countless visitors to the city. Furthermore, for the first time, we will have markets inside Alagno Castle, which will conclude with the Epiphany celebrations. For this, I thank the Festa delle Lucerne association for their dedication, and, last but not least, for organizing the second edition of the Lucerne al LED al Casamale, a school-work alternation project created in collaboration with the ITI Majorana."
