A Christmas full of events at the Sannazaro theater, starting Friday December 20th at 21.00:6 pm with the long-awaited return of Cafè Chantant – Vinyl Shake, by and with Lara Sansone, on the bill, in a new and sparkling guise until January XNUMXth, with Corrado Ardone, Massimo Peluso, Mario Aterrano, and with the Orchestra and Ballet of Cafè Chantant. The majestic choreography of Alessandro di Napoli and the music written and directed by Ettore Gatta. An unpredictable and never-the-same succession of theater, music, dance and cabaret performances envelops an audience no longer made up of beautiful armchairs placed in an orderly row, but of tables, chairs, glasses and snacks.
On Saturday 21st at 18.00:2 pm, with repeats until January XNUMXnd, After the end by Dennis Kelly, directed by Francesco Saponaro, with Eduardo Scarpetta and Denise Capezza, debuts in the spaces of La Sartoria, a historic space where the stage costumes of Luisa Conte's productions were created and preserved. The direction, focusing on the work with the actors and on a particular stage layout, develops a site-specific show that amplifies the claustrophobic dimension of the text and eliminates the distance between actor and spectator.
For two years, La Sartoria has become a place of great work excitement under the direction of Francesco Saponaro, making it available to companies, directors and actors, as a space for rehearsals, experimentation, laboratory work, which lead to a show proposal. After the end was born as a study for a staging in the 2018/19 season for La Sartoria-Cantiere Residenze del Teatro Sannazaro, thanks to the creative solicitations of the two protagonists.
Wednesday 25 December at 20.30pm (repeats 30 December and 1 January) the Sannazaro celebrates Christmas with the irreverent and very ill-mannered tombola by Gino Curcione, protagonist of the historical show Nummere.
“The Tradition and Tourism theater production center, during the Christmas period best expresses the project conceived for the Sannazaro theater and its new course.” – Explains the artistic director Lara Sansone – “In fact, for the holiday period, usually dedicated to tradition of which we have always been a great point of reference for Neapolitans and tourists, with the usual and eagerly awaited appointment with the Cafè Chantant, this year in a Vinyl Shake version, we thought of proposing a show of new dramaturgy to be repeated in the suggestive setting of the Sartoria space, After the end by Dennis Kelly with the translation by Monica Nappo. And tradition again, with the lucky tombola Nummere by Gino Curcione. Tradition and innovation, fun and reflection in this new particularly rich path of the Sannazaro theater that is increasingly becoming a point of reference for an ever-changing audience. The Cafè Chantant that has now been repeating for many years, is not just a great party show. Cafè Chantant is a way of doing theater, of playing with stereotypes, with quotes, with desecration, with memories. The audience is involved in an incredible total theatrical machine in which the separation between artists and spectators is banished. An ancient tradition renewed every year in different forms and in step with the times, because the original Cafè Chantant never spoke in the past, but always in the present and the future.”
Three productions by Sannazaro with which the theatre offers a varied selection of shows in the name of great tradition with an openness to innovation, capturing the deepest and most fruitful sign of the history of Neapolitan theatre.
