The Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology recorded an earthquake in the Gulf of Salerno, specifically off the coast of Castellabate. The quake was recorded shortly after 1:00 PM, at a depth of nearly 6 kilometers, and had a magnitude of 2.8. There were no injuries or damage, but the tremor was felt by residents of the southern province, along the coastal strip from Capaccio-Paestum to Sapri.
