A community prayer service to say 'no' to the Camorra and all forms of crime is currently taking place in the Church of Sant'Antonio on Via Università in Portici, in the aftermath of the deadly attack in a tobacconist's bar. The invitation to participate in the prayer service "For the love of my brothers, I will not be silent" has been extended to the entire community and recalls the document "For the love of my people, I will not be silent," signed by Father Peppe Diana at Christmas 1991, along with other priests, and distributed to all churches. It was precisely that letter from Father Diana to his community that was read by actor Ernesto Lama, while Neapolitan singer-songwriter Nero Nelson performed his anti-Camorra song, "A Verità." On the evening of December 23, a few hours after the murder, the parish priests of the Portici community gathered to draft a document condemning the Camorra and drugs, which are claiming victims, especially among the youngest, urging everyone to open up, starting in their own apartment buildings, to eradicate the roots of indifference and isolation.
