The organizational machine of the Andrea Parodi Award 2020 is underway, which will take place from 8 to 10 October as always in Cagliari. The new competition announcement is already available on www.fondazioneandreaparodi.it.
The Award is the only European contest dedicated to world music and has reached its 13th edition, acquiring an ever-increasing prestige at an international level year after year, thanks also to the organization of the Foundation of the same name and the artistic direction of Elena Ledda. The event was created to pay homage to a great artist like Andrea Parodi, who moved from the pop d'auteur with Tazenda to a solo career of great value and re-elaboration of the roots, thanks to which he became an international reference of world music, collaborating among others with artists like Al Di Meola and Noa.
The call is open to artists from all over the world, registration is as always free.
Among the prizes for the winner are a series of concerts and participation in some of the most important Italian quality music festivals in the 2021 editions: from the “European jazz expo” in Sardinia to Folkest in Friuli, from the Negro Festival in Pertosa (SA) and the Parodi Prize itself, but also in other events that will be announced as they happen. In addition to this, he/she will be entitled to a scholarship of 2.500 euros. The winner of the critics' prize will instead receive the professional production of the video clip of the song in the competition, at the expense of the Andrea Parodi Foundation.
