Vincenzo Picardi needed only four rounds to become the Italian Bantamweight champion. The 36-year-old dominated the match that last Saturday saw him against the boxer from Cesenatico Pio Antonio Nettuno and celebrated with the large crowd that came to see his match at the Nemea Energy Village in Cardito. A home victory for Picardi, who in the facility built by the Castaldo Group and which boasts over 5.000 square meters dedicated to sports and wellness, not only prepared the assault on the national crown but also trains a great group of amateur boxers: "The crowd's cheering was the extra weapon in this challenge - confesses the new Italian champion - and I'm happy that Miriam and Salvatore Castaldo gave me the opportunity to experience this moment. In my career, this was the first time I really competed at home".

Returning to Saturday's match, Picardi already showed greater dynamism from the second round. Before the knockout in the fourth round, in fact, Nettuno had already been counted out for the first time by the referee. The new Italian champion's boxing was counterattack, as he had studied in the preparation phase: "Together with my technical staff we had planned the tactics in the best possible way. Studying the opponent, we had in fact decided to box counterattack, which is essentially my strong point".

The success of the Nemea Energy Village in Cardito projects Picardi towards even more important goals. The boxer from Casoria has in his sights the climb towards the European title: "I want to burn the stages - he confesses candidly - but before trying to conquer the continental crown, I have another match in mind, whether it is a defense of the Italian title or a long-distance match, with the primary objective of accumulating more points in view of the European Championship".
