The members of the youth gang who attacked and stabbed a 14-year-old boy in the parking lot of the Vulcano Buono shopping center in Nola on December 8th have been identified. Vulcano SpA announced the news, expressing "applause and thanks to law enforcement for the quick identification of those responsible for the attack," and inviting the injured boy to return to the shopping center for an "anti-bullying day." According to the company, the identification of the teenagers who, after beating the 14-year-old with truncheons and stabbing him in the abdomen, was made possible thanks in part to video surveillance footage captured by some of the 150 cameras located outside the shopping center. "We are particularly grateful to the Carabinieri for their commitment and brilliant investigative work," said the company's CEO, Gian Marco Nicelli, "and at the same time, we are satisfied with the results of the significant technological investments made in video surveillance, which will be followed by further investments already planned, with the primary goal of ensuring ever-greater security for the more than 6,5 million visitors to our center." Nicelli then turned his thoughts to the injured 14-year-old, who, he said, "we know is on the mend, and once he's recovered, we look forward to seeing him back at our shopping center soon to celebrate with him on a day dedicated to the fight against 'bullying,' a phenomenon that transcends location and unfortunately pervades our entire society today."
