Young talents grow and thrive at the Galileo Ferraris Technical Institute in Scampia, the Neapolitan technical and industrial institute that for decades has guided its students toward technological innovation and the professions of the future. A hotbed of culture, training, and concrete commitment, Open Fiber has been at the helm since 2017. Last year, a press release explains, a work-study program featured the students of Via Labriola, with the two most deserving students selected for an internship in the world of fiber optics and ultra-fast connections. The training project, managed by Elis and sponsored by the VIII Municipality of Naples, is therefore relaunching and doubling its size this year. The presentation of the new activities was held today, Tuesday, December 16, at the Technical Institute in Scampia. Headmaster Saverio Petitti opened the event. Rodolfo Matteucci and Fabio Melia, professionals from Open Fiber's Network & Operations and Communications areas, respectively, delved into the project, explaining the mission and values of the company committed to building a national telecommunications network entirely in fiber optics. Valeria Buccilli, representative of Elis' "Alliance for Alternation," then took the lead in explaining the specifics of the training project and the characteristics of the nonprofit educational center inspired by St. Josemaría Escrivá. The director of the Ferraris Institute, Saverio Petitti, summarized the phases of the collaboration with Open Fiber, emphasizing the attention paid to the Institute by the leading telecommunications company: "The success is demonstrated by the enthusiasm and results of the students who have followed the work-study program, by the direct experiences gained, and by the opportunities that have materialized. The visit of the students and their teachers to the Open Fiber Service Operation Center in Rome's EUR district last May was," the headmaster continued, "a highly significant moment and a seal of the experience. With the renewal of the PCTO agreement between Ferraris and Open Fiber, the initiative continues to demonstrate Ferraris' commitment to combining quality and inclusion, educational opportunities and job prospects for students, with the patronage of the VIII Municipality and a focus on the fundamental value of the ethical alliance between the company, school, and the local community. This is demonstrated by facts: starting this year, the Ferraris Institute in Naples is connected to the data network in wireless mode." Ftth (Fiber To The House), created thanks to Open Fiber”.
