For this reason, the Carabinieri of the Isola Liri station, in the Frosinone area, arrested two repeat offenders from the province of Caserta.
FT, 49, and ABR, 51, were arrested, both accused of spending counterfeit money. Shortly before their arrest, the two criminals had paid for purchases made inside a well-known local business with clearly counterfeit 20 euro notes, then left on board a white small car. The merchant, who had noticed the scam almost immediately, contacted 112, so the Operations Center of the Sora Company immediately spread the search throughout the surrounding area, converging the various patrols. After a few minutes, the aforementioned military officers identified the car with the suspects on board, who, once stopped, were subjected to a personal and vehicle search, which allowed them to find inside the trunk of the vehicle a package, wrapped in aluminum foil, containing 83 counterfeit banknotes, all of the denomination of 20 euros, for a total nominal value of 1660 euros, which were promptly seized.

Also through the viewing of the footage from the video surveillance system of the commercial establishment, the military were able to identify, with certainty, the two arrested as the authors of the spending of the counterfeit banknotes. The subsequent investigations, through the acquisition of witness information, allowed to establish that the two had made further purchases, always using counterfeit 20 euro banknotes at two other commercial establishments located in the center of Sora. At the end of the ritual formalities, the two were transferred to the Cassino prison.

Furthermore, the arrested will be proposed for the imposition of the preventive measure of the Mandatory Leave Sheet by the municipalities of Sora and Isola del Liri, for a period of three years. The investigations continue throughout the Ciociaro territory, in order to ascertain whether the two have perpetrated other similar crimes.
