The Carabinieri of Monreale Palermo during an anti-drug operation arrested a 28-year-old Neapolitan for production, trafficking and possession of narcotics. The operation took place at the port of Palermo on ships arriving from Naples. The check was carried out by the military with the assistance of the 1st metropolitan operational unit of the Palermo financial police. The military of the Arma, suspicious of the young man's behavior upon disembarkation, decided to check his cabin. The search allowed them to find two bags containing 40 kilos of hashish divided into blocks of 100 grams each. The drugs were seized and will be sent to Lass Laboratory for the analysis of narcotics of the provincial command of the Carabinieri of Palermo for routine analysis. After the arrest, the man was taken to the Lorusso prison in Palermo, at the disposal of the judicial authorities. The judge validated the arrest and ordered the precautionary measure of house arrest for the 28-year-old. The operation by the Carabinieri is part of a broader strategy to combat the phenomenon of drug dealing in which, in the city and in the province, the military of the provincial command of Palermo are engaged on a daily basis.
