Mondragone. Biagio Consales, one of three injured in the fire that broke out on Via Tessaglia in Mondragone last Friday due to a gas leak, died.
The man, transported to the Cardarelli hospital in Naples, died due to the serious burns he suffered. The conditions of the other two victims of the fire, also hospitalized at the Neapolitan hospital, are stable: Luigina V., wife of Biagio Consales, and Rosa Campoli.
The fire spread in the Mondragone apartment due to two faulty gas cylinders: one placed in the kitchen area and the other positioned in a gas stove. One of which was 'forced' by the first victim Michele Campoli who tried to open it with pliers causing a violent jet of gas that hitting the stove a meter away he ended up burning alive dying in a few moments under the eyes of the other injured who tried to save him.
Only one little girl escaped unharmed from the fiery inferno because Luigina 'threw' her out the door of the house, saving her life. The investigations of the Mondragone municipal police are continuing in order to clarify the matter.
