A virtuous path has been started between the entities present at the table - the Province, the municipalities of the Coast, the municipality of Corbara, the representatives of SITA Sud and TRAVELMAR - to facilitate the circulation of public transport, both through the provincial arteries that constitute the only road alternative to the 163, as well as to strengthen mobility by sea in order to meet the natural requests of residents and tourists".
The inconveniences for the population of the Coast will continue even during the Christmas and New Year holidays, with strong negative repercussions for the tourism sector.
During the meeting it was agreed that alternative roads should, at the moment, be dedicated primarily to public transport of people, while, as regards the transport of goods, companies that supply municipalities and tourist-accommodation activities should equip themselves with small vehicles that are more compatible with the situation of road disruption of the alternative arteries.
At the same time, the Province and the municipalities of Maiori, Tramonti and Corbara have decided to sign an agreement to carry out joint checks on the access roads to these alternative arteries, to implement specific services aimed at ensuring compliance with the traffic limits set on these arteries.

SITA, for its part, has committed to increasing, starting tomorrow, the runs that will pass through the only alternative artery SP2 – the Chiunzi pass and the municipality of Corbara (new timetables are therefore expected) – as well as to connect Salerno with Cetara and allow the Cetara/Maiori sea interchange and the subsequent run from Maiori to Amalfi, both on weekdays and holidays. The company will soon make the run timetables public.
TRAVELMAR, in order to meet the needs that have arisen, has made itself available to set up extraordinary maritime connection services between the ports of Maiori and Cetara (and vice versa), coinciding with the SITA public service runs. Furthermore, the company has made itself available to bring forward some maritime connections, ordinarily scheduled for March, starting in January, should the emergency continue over time.
A fruitful synergy between all the Institutions to alleviate the inconveniences due to the events resulting from the hydrogeological fragility of our territory and our roads, the result of institutional cohesion and "teamwork", to put the professional and financial resources available at the service of the community.
