They rented their house in Roccaraso for a week's skiing but were scammed. This was the bitter surprise at the beginning of the year for a group of about ten young people from Castellammare di Stabia and Santa Maria La Carità. The small group of friends had rented a house in Roccaraso for a week through the portal Subito.it (not involved in the scam) for €800. But when they arrived yesterday morning, they found the house occupied by an elderly woman who claimed she knew nothing about the rental. They filed a complaint with the local Carabinieri station. The officers explained to the young people from the Stabia area that theirs was the eighth complaint for fraud on the same day for the same house, and that someone had paid as much as €1500. Naturally, the young people were forced to find other accommodations and shell out more money.
