Good news for the church of the Santissima Annunziata, closed for safety reasons after some debris fell from the ceiling of the central nave last Sunday during the celebration of mass. The Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities has allocated funds to redo the roofing and therefore to secure the building, which will allow the reopening to the faithful of a place of worship known beyond the regional borders for the custody of a relic attributed to Christ's crown of thorns. The announcement was made by MP Anna Bilotti, who this morning went to the ministerial offices to highlight the problem and ensure the availability of funds for an immediate intervention. "I am very happy to be able to confirm the funding of the work - commented the parliamentarian of the 5 Star Movement - After the fruitful dialogue with the Superintendency of Salerno, activated immediately after the collapse of the plaster, I contacted the Ministry and received assurances regarding the allocation and availability of the sum. In addition to being a place of worship and custodian of the relic of the Holy Thorn for the faithful, the church also represents an invaluable cultural heritage for non-believers, and as such must be protected." The timeframe for using the funding is expected to be short. From the discussions between the parliamentarian and the superintendent Francesca Casule, it emerged that the definition of the project for the extremely urgent intervention is already on the home straight.
