Two men from Secondigliano were discovered and reported by agents of the flying squad of the Avellino police headquarters. The two, aged 38 and 45, are accused of fraud, extortion and possession of illegal firecrackers. The police officers stopped them yesterday evening at the end of a chase near Avellino Ovest while they were trying to take the highway in a BMW. The two carried out a scam against a pharmacy and attempted to do the same at other businesses in the city between via Guarini and via Tagliamento. It was a delicatessen owner who uncovered the scam. To pay for the goods they were purchasing, the two used a 100 euro note that they first placed on the counter to pay and then, with the excuse of having forgotten something in the car, they took it back and then, on their return, told the shopkeeper: "I already gave you the hundred euros earlier". Hence the name of the scam "Déjà vu" (already seen). Some fell for the trap, others didn't, in particular the delicatessen owner who alerted the police.
