An “electric” live show will take place on Saturday 11 January at Common Ground: Fede'n'Marlen, namely Federica Ottombrino and Marilena Vitale, will take to the stage of the industrial bistro on via Scarfoglio, accompanied on stage by Ciro Tuzzi (EPO) on electric guitar, Walter Marzocchella (ROMITO) on drums and Luca Costanzo (Sabbaegliincensurabili).
The Neapolitan duo has just finished celebrating their sixth year together: two albums under their belt (the third coming in 2020: the singer-songwriters are already in the recording studio), thousands of copies sold and concerts all over the peninsula. At Common Ground they will give a preview of some unreleased songs that will be included in the new work, including “Isole”, “Alabastro” and “Intercostale”.
The sounds of Fede'n'Marlen were born in 2013 between Naples, Granada, Buenos Aires, Rione Sanità: the two singer-songwriters Federica Ottombrino and Marilena Vitale discovered a common world, a world where they could let their emotions breathe guided by the intertwining of their voices. Thus began a musical journey that would lead them to the creation of a first EP "Stalattiti Live" produced by "Casa Lavica Records" and an LP, in July 2016, entitled "Mandorle", on the Europhone Records/Veloce Entertainment label, in which important names in contemporary music collaborated, including guitarist Gianni Guarracino, Tunisian singer M'Barka ben Taleb, Ciro Tuzzi of Epo and Sicilian singer-songwriter Katres.
In the sound baggage of Fede'n'Marlen it is possible to find authorial music, magical South American singer-songwriters such as Caetano Veloso and Adriana Calcanhotto, the ancient and wise Neapolitan song, the love for acoustic and traditional instruments, the desire to speak to a world that seems to escape the theory of love, the beauty of things, the passion for life.
Exciting, in their past, are the openings of the concerts of Levante, Craig David, Nada, Cristina Donà, Francesco Di Bella, Foja and some live performances where they shared the stage with Paolo Benvegnù, Brunella Selo, Fausta Vetere, Maria Nazionale, Tommaso Primo, Alessio Arena, Ilaria Graziano and Francesco Forni.
In their music Fede'n'Marlen tell stories that sweat love, irony, small philosophies of life and confront a world that would quickly like to erase every emotion while the songs stop them and put them to music, they are written in the lyrics, they live in the voices, in the guitars, in the accordion and in the visceral and sincere sounds, to enter the skin of the dream in which they have been living for seven years.
