Filippo Giardina's show will inaugurate Stand Up Comedy 2020, the third edition of the successful festival that, from January to March, will see some of the most well-known and appreciated stand-up comedians on the national scene take turns on the stage of the Teatro Nuovo.
Three artists on stage in Naples, Filippo Giardina, Giorgio Montanini and Edoardo Ferrario who, thanks to their cutting and outspoken comedy, will be the protagonists of the consolidated review presented in Naples by the Teatro Pubblico Campano.
They will propose cutting monologues, a reflection of an irreverent and uncensored comedy, which spares nothing and no one, and which continues to produce new satirical monologues and fill stages all over Italy.
Their shows, especially live, are more corrosive, thanks to a crude language far from commonplaces, guaranteeing true freedom of expression, free from winks, and overturning the common feeling.
Kicking off the show on Friday 17 January at 21.00pm will be Filippo Giardina with Formiche, the ninth satirical monologue by the founding father of Italian Stand Up Comedy, who returns to the stage with his latest one man show.
Thanks to an Anglo-Saxon comic style, Filippo Giardina has become the reference figure around which the Stand Up Comedy movement was born in Italy, founding the Satiriasi Stand Up collective in Rome in 2009.
Since then, he has never stopped touring his eight live shows, treading the stages of all Italy, with ever-new satirical monologues. For TV, he participated in the cast of “Stand Up Comedy” on Comedy Central IT, “Sbandati” on Rai2 and “Nemico Pubblico” on Rai3.
Formiche is a show of pure and authentic satire, the likes of which have not been seen for a long time, and the artistic maturity of the Roman comedian in this new monologue can be summed up in just one sentence: “A round of applause for Andreotti”.
From Giulio Andreotti to Leo Ferragni, through immigrants, gays, women, dwarfs and state massacres, in this new show Giardina spares no one, demolishing all the cornerstones of our society. Due to the crude language and the themes covered, the show is recommended for an adult audience.
The program of the festival will continue on Friday, February 14 with Come Britney Spears, the ninth and unreleased monologue by Giorgio Montanini, which questions the only true transversal and shared bulwark, the one that keeps the human race standing: anthropocentrism.
When faced with a critical situation, the boundary between awareness and hysteria is ambiguous and deceptive. Since the human being first appeared on the planet, he has been desperately and stubbornly searching for the right path to serenity, peace and happiness. From the dawn of time to today, we have continually taken the wrong path because of our hysteria and unawareness. And the result? We find ourselves with very few illiterates but a great many stupid people.
Presumption, hypocrisy and political correctness are the real enemies to fight.
When we can free ourselves of these cumbersome burdens, we will finally be able to see ourselves for what we are: frightened, insignificant beings trying to survive in hostile territory.
Closing the show, on Friday 27 March, will be Edoardo Ferrario, who returns to perform in Naples with his new stand-up comedy show. The Roman comedian offers a snapshot of our country and its unpredictable inhabitants: thirty-year-olds on the run, seniors in the limelight, sinister new professions, offended Internet users and enraged voters. Can we at least trust artificial intelligence? The androids will decide.
Appointment, therefore, at the Teatro Nuovo in Naples with the live shows of the three comedians, for the third edition of the review that is enriched with new proposals and some of the most interesting realities of the satirical and comic scene.
