Preceded by the singles “Luna nuova” and “A Schermo Aperto”, “Frammenti a colori”, the debut album by singer-songwriter Daniela Vicale, is released.
Born in Caserta, but adopted by Cilento, Daniela Vicale has created an emotional album that revolves entirely around her vocals.
Starting from pop songwriting, Daniela, supported by an excellent staff (with the arranger and composer Alessandro Galdieri standing out), inserts, from time to time, elements ranging from popular music (the musical genre in which the singer-songwriter took her first steps) to medieval-style inserts.
“Maestro Lorenzo Maffia (with whom I had the pleasure of creating my first unreleased songs) one day introduced me to two professionals (now great friends): multi-instrumentalist Alessandro Galdieri and the very talented Valentina Schiavo. I needed a good arranger, someone who would work on my songs and take care of every detail of the album. In fact, to my seven unreleased songs, three more songs written by the duo Galdieri/Schiavo were added, while the lyrics of the latest single, 'A Schermo Aperto', are the work of a very dear artist friend of mine, Monia Ridolfi, with whom, years ago, I shared one of my most beautiful singing experiences. The recordings were always curated by Alessandro Galdieri while, for the mixing and mastering phase, we must thank our friend Romolo D'Amaro”.
An album that was long in the making, “Frammenti a colori” is made up of 11 unreleased songs plus a cover, “Insieme” by Battisti-Mogol, made famous by Mina.
“One night a melody was born (the music has always preceded my lyrics), after a few days the lyrics, often helped by my brother Vincenzo, also an all-round artist, an actor-singer and lover of good music. When I proposed the project to him, he didn't hesitate for a single moment in wanting to share this beautiful adventure with me. The last song born for the album, created during the recording phase, one of those songs where you sit down and the pen starts writing by itself, was “La ballata delle malelingue”, and it is one of those songs born in collaboration with Alessandro. I sent him the lyrics and he, very quickly, had already created the melody that same evening”.
The album cover, designed and created by Valentina Schiavo, is Daniela's personal way of wishing everyone health, happiness, well-being and prosperity.
“For the cover I really liked the idea of using origami. I chose the one representing the crane because in Japan they are given as a gift to wish health, happiness, well-being and prosperity; usually given to a loved one, I liked this beautiful message right away. They are all different colors and Valentina Schiavo, the creator of the graphic design, armed with a lot of patience created them for me, one by one”.
