This morning, Biagio Ciaramella, head of Konsumer and Aifvs Aversa and Agro Aversano, went to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere Public Prosecutor's Office to file a request for "an inspection and verification of the legality of the traffic violation reports issued by the Marcianise Municipal Police on Provincial Road 335." The head of the two associations also delivered the same documentation to the Prefecture, the Province, and the Municipality of Marcianise. Immediately after delivery, Ciaramella stated: "Both with the Italian Association of Relatives and Road Victims and with Konsumer, we are asking the Public Prosecutor's Office whether the current 60 km/h speed limit on the stretch of Provincial Road 335 is legal or not. This limit is dangerous for traffic, given that on that type of main extra-urban road, there should be a speed limit of 90 km/h to 110 km/h." "We demand clarity," Ciaramella continued, "including regarding the usability of that section of the Asse Mediano. We don't want to accuse anyone, but we demand reliable information on a heavily traveled road that endangers the lives of motorists and is draining the pockets of thousands of people. We also demand clarification on how the money earmarked for road safety under Article 208 is being spent." The association's representative concluded: "For now, the suspension of the Tutor has been planned, but it's time for answers! If this device is merely an ATM for the municipality of Marcianise and isn't up to code, and if the road isn't usable, immediate action must be taken, because citizens' lives cannot be used to play roulette and accumulate easy profits. Vincenzo Ferrante, national vice president of Konsumer Italia, stated: "We reiterate that we are not against Tutors, which are useful tools for road safety, but we are in favor of respect for the law by everyone, especially institutions."
