Thursday, January 16, the penultimate appointment with the BeQuiet – Concerts at Piccolo Bellini review will feature Mujeres Creando in an unmissable concert. For the occasion, several guests will join the Neapolitan band: Blindur, Dolores Melodia, Fabiana Martone, O'Rom. The open act is entrusted to singer-songwriter Lena A.
This year Apogeo Records, in addition to producing the festival in collaboration with Upside Production, has supported BeQuiet in the artistic direction, bringing the most interesting proposals of the singer-songwriter to the stage of the Piccolo Bellini. The last event, which will be held on February 27, will be an evening dedicated to the young promises of Apogeo Records New Generation.
Mujeres Creando is a band composed of five Neapolitan musicians, who experiment with sounds whose common thread is the original instrumental set used: violin, accordion, cross-over guitar, percussion and loop station. It was born in 2010 as a trio when three women who love music, Anna Claudia Postiglione, guitarist, Igea Montemurro, violinist and Giordana Curati, accordionist, met and started playing together. The motivation grows and ends up involving the interest of one of the most interesting voices on the Neapolitan scene: Assia Fiorillo. It is 2011 and the four decide to create a real group: Mujeres Creando. The name is borrowed from the South American feminist collective, and in Italian it means "Women who create". The songs that are born, Tangorà, Once more, L'idea, Ex Valzer, Le stelle sono rare are included in a show that the group takes to various clubs.
In 2014, Mujeres Creando were hired by the municipality of Marsala (TP) for a performance in the theater on March 8th. Another unreleased song was written for that day and for the history of women's self-determination: A woman's day. For the occasion of the Sicilian tour, Marisa Cataldo, an eclectic musician and specialist in percussion and drums, joined the group. In July 2015, the band performed at the gala evening of the AJD Alto Jonio Dance Festival, selected as best emerging band. In June 2016, it was selected among the best emerging bands and invited to participate in the "Meeting del mare 2016" festival in Marina di Camerota (SA). In January 2017, it won the "Musica Giovane" contest and was selected to perform at the Epiphany 2017 concert, sharing the stage with the big names of the international art scene.
January 26, 2018 marks their official debut with their first album Le stelle sono rare, recorded at the Sanità Music Studio for Apogeo Records, an album that they continue to take on tour with constant success.
