"De Luca should not continue to tell lies. The idea of delivering the waste as is to Acerra is not a simple hypothesis that is being worked on in the Region, but a practice that has been going on for days now, further clogging up a plant that is already at the limits of its capacity. Nor can we speak with condescension of a solution that, in addition to clogging up the incineration activity, stressing its production and increasing maintenance costs for the citizens of Campania, will produce consequences on the environment and on the inhabitants of Acerra and the surrounding municipalities. The waste as is in the bins does not have the characteristics of the dry waste treated in the Stir and therefore is not compatible with the plant, with obvious and inevitable effects on the quality of the emissions". This is stated by the regional councilors of the 5 Star Movement and members of the Environment Commission Maria Muscarà and Vincenzo Viglione.
“The failure remains. Namely, that a few months before the end of his mandate, the governor of Campania is still forced to resort to emergency measures. A failure that is amplified by De Luca's inability to implement a law and a plan he signed approved in 2016. There is no trace of composting plants, the percentage of separate waste collection is stuck at 52,7%, a good 9 percentage points less than the regional plan objectives set at 61,3%. Without forgetting – conclude the M5S regional councilors – the biggest lie of the five-year period: the total removal of eco-bales, which to date is stuck at 5%”.
