Antonio Capuozzo, a 2015 Italian futsal champion with Pescara and a former national team player, died in Montesilvano, in the province of Pescara, from a suspected illness, just steps from his car, not far from the home where he lived. The lifeless body of the former goalkeeper for the Abruzzo team was found this morning at 4:00 a.m. by a passerby who alerted the police and emergency services, but when paramedics arrived, they could only confirm the death of the man, who would have turned 40 in March. There were no signs of violence on the body. Prosecutor Salvatore Campochiaro has not yet ordered an autopsy, but has only conducted several tests. There is shock and grief in the local futsal community and in his hometown of Naples.
