After having released the video-single “Banalità” exclusively for Billboard Italia (directed by Giorgio Marangolo & Federico Francavilla), the band – made up of Letizia Vitagliano (vocals), Lorenzo Catocci (keyboards), Lorenzo Zollo (guitar and keyboards), Pietro Scalera, (bass and synth) and Cristiano Caiazzo (drums and drum pad) – is preparing to release their debut EP produced and recorded at “Wave Studio” in Pozzuoli (Naples) and mixed and mastered by Domenico Musto.
“Banalità” is a single with a vaporwave mood, rich in jazz influences enriched by electronic-sounding arrangements.
The other songs that make up the EP's tracklist are a concentration of sound experiments linked to overseas music but sung in Italian, thus "Diverso" (MaxSound rec.) was born, the first album by SoulFtaara that expresses a series of disordered thoughts common to all through soul, jazz and funk. The strong sensitivity of the musicians, the diversity of backgrounds and uniqueness have led to the creation of "diverso", a "taboo" word that is often not used so as not to label, not to hurt, not to exclude; while SoulFataara have chosen it because they believe that there is no negative meaning to this adjective but rather "different" is the true wealth, both in the artistic and social fields. With the four songs that make up the EP's tracklist, the band wants to give voice to all those "different" criminalized in their innocence and marginalized for their lack of conformity.
