The first Academy in Southern Italy dedicated to the world of cinema and television is born in Benevento. BCT Academy, founded by the staff of the National Film and Television Festival – City of Benevento, is a professional school that aims to train professionals for the small and big screen, introducing them to the world of writing, directing, production and post-production.
Through lectures, meetings, masterclasses and practical activities, the Academy aims to provide complete training to students, between tradition and experimentation, to train professionals ready to be inserted into the job market: director for cinema and television, producer, screenwriter, television author, editor. To these professional figures, the Academy also intends to support a series of technical skills that contribute to the creation of the cinematographic and television show: production organization, shooting, photography, sound, editing, sound design.
A one-year course, with mandatory attendance, 4 days a week, starting in September 2020 (registrations are open through the website www.bctacademy.it). Teachers, journalists, experts, directors, authors, actors and producers will support students in a long theoretical and then practical course, ending the experience in July with practical work within the National Film and Television Festival and then with internships at some of the most important film and television production companies on the national scene. The activities carried out within the Academy, the contacts and direct relationships with the professionals chosen from among the school's teachers will represent the necessary basis for undertaking one's professional career within the audiovisual sector. Furthermore, thanks to the constant educational collaboration with established professionals in the sector, the Academy will bring the ideas and works of the members to the attention of producers and managers of national television and film broadcasters.
The students will also be involved in Screenwriting and making short films; Planning and making docufilms; Writing television formats; Making teasers or zero numbers of television programs; Writing subjects and film treatments; Planning fiction for TV; Planning a web series and making the pilot episode; Interpretation and acting in television and film programs; Management of production budgets for film and television projects. Many teachers will be involved and will meet the students during the year, from Gesualdo Vercio, Director of the Real Time television channel, of the Discovery Italia group to Federica Lucisano or Nicola Giuliano, historic film producers, from actors Paolo Calabresi or Francesco Montanari to directors Massimiliano Bruno or Massimiliano Papi. And then there is communication with Valerio Caprara, Giusi Battaglia, Marta Bertolini of the Fox group, Alessio Viola of Sky Tg24, Martina Riva, former Filmauro press officer now television author, TV authors Massimo Righini, Antonio Frascadore, Massimo Cinque and many others, the film sector with the former Director of Mibac – Cinema Direction, Nicola Borrelli or dubbing with Marco Bresciani. A 360-degree path that, in addition to the permanent teachers, will be accompanied by numerous masterclasses and meetings with established professionals in the sector who will dedicate their time to the growth and training of the students. In fact, numerous actors, directors or authors will be involved during the year to establish a real training path that will allow the enrolled students to concretely approach the world of cinema and TV in all possible facets. Furthermore, the internships, after the educational path, will represent the concrete possibility that will be guaranteed to the students to put into practice all the notions acquired during the year. It will be possible to enroll in the BCT Academy starting from January 2020 and until July 2020. The lessons will start in Benevento, at the headquarters of the Bct National Film and Television Festival starting from September 2020 and until July 2021 (inclusive).
