Crackdown to combat the rampant phenomenon of prostitution especially in the Arechi stadium area. The mayor of Salerno Vincenzo Napoli has signed a new ordinance to combat the phenomenon.
“This phenomenon,” the ordinance states, “has a negative impact on urban safety, as it gives rise to situations of disturbance of public peace, offense to public decency and urban and hygienic degradation. These are also ways of exercising that are linked to a series of phenomena of criminal relevance, such as the exploitation or facilitation of prostitution, solicitation, obscene acts.”
Public safety and security. These are the reasons that prompted the mayor of Naples to issue a ban, until September 30, 2020, which concerns anyone who decides "to offer, negotiate, agree on paid sexual services or engage in prostitution, with any method and behavior, in public places, open spaces or spaces visible to the public. It is also forbidden to converse with those who engage in such activity".
