On Sunday, January 5th, at 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM at the Nuovo Teatro Sancarluccio, La Lanterna Magica, a children's theater series organized by Il Teatro nel Baule, returns, featuring Tales from the Woods by Zaches Teatro. Luana Gramegna, who wrote and directed the show, also performs with Enrica Zampetti, retelling one of the world's most famous fairy tales. A theatrical reading of Little Red Riding Hood, the narrator leads listeners into an intimate and evocative space, a fairytale-like setting where they can lose themselves and let their imagination run wild. The production, a finalist for the 2019 Inbox Verde Award, features sets by Francesco Givone and music by Stefano Ciardi. Recommended for children 4 and up. Tickets are €10 (full adult price); €8 for a reduced ticket (reserved for children up to 13 years old; families of at least 4; Il Teatro nel Baule members; Teatro Sancarluccio students; and those who purchase tickets online). Tales from the Woods offers listeners a wide margin for inner reflection, taking on distinct meanings for each spectator. In addition to words, the languages of puppet theater are the tools through which the story is told. A place of mystery and charm, temptation and transgression, in Little Red Riding Hood's forest children face dangers, risks and fears, and bravely go in search of themselves, becoming a little bigger at every step. With this production, the company continues its line of research on theater for children, rediscovering the original and oldest version of the fairy tale.
Zaches Teatro was born in Florence in 2007, works on the union between various artistic languages: contemporary dance, the expressive means of puppet theater, the use of the mask, the word, the relationship between plastic movements and live electronic music/sound. Since 2010 it has received support from the Tuscany Region as a young theater company.
The fourth event of the festival is scheduled for February 23 with Posidonia, a show by Teatro di Carta, a company that carries out scenic research on the many facets of theatre, from the physical work of the actor to puppet theatre, and in particular on shadow theatre.
