The Piero Ciampi Special Prize was awarded to Cristiano De Andrè. Forty years after the death of the Livorno-born singer-songwriter and poet, the 2020 special edition, titled "Piero Ciampi Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow," will take place from January 17th to 19th. In the other categories, awards go to poet Haydar Ergülen for the foreign section and to Giulia Rusconi for the Italian section.
The highlight of the event will be a concert at the Goldoni Theatre. On the final evening, Cristiano De André, La Crus, Omar Pedrini, the Arezzo Multiethnic Orchestra with Andrea Scanzi and Paolo Benvegnù and the Andrea Pellegrini Trio from Livorno will perform there.
The initiative will have a prologue in Genoa on Thursday 16 January with the debate “Piero Ciampi and Genoa, an inevitable affinity”, created in collaboration with via del Campo 29r and “la casa dei cantautori genovesi”.
The celebrations will continue on the 17th and 18th in various locations in Livorno (in addition to the Galleria Gennai in Pisa) and will conclude on Sunday 19th January with the awarding of the L'Altrarte and Valigie Rosse prizes, while the final evening will be held at the Teatro Goldoni.
