In the Question Time session of the Campania Regional Council on January 24, the Green Regional Councilor Francesco Emilio Borrelli presented a question requiring an immediate response to find out the status of the planning process for the new hospital in Giugliano in Campania and whether a timetable has been hypothesized for all phases, from planning to execution of the works.
“On June 27, 2019, we held a hearing where we discussed the project for the new hospital in Giugliano. This structure, for which we have been fighting for years, would represent a turning point for the territory and if the delivery times are respected, the citizens of Giugliano will soon be able to have a new hospital.” This was the intervention of Councilor Borrelli in the Question Time session concerning the issue of the new hospital in Giugliano.
Councilor for Productive Activities Antonio Marchiello reported on the state of the art: "Two months after the hearing of June 27, 2019, the program that includes the construction of the new Giugliano Hospital was signed between the Campania Region, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Economy. Measures to accelerate and simplify the interventions were approved as per the program agreement. Furthermore, a standard timetable is foreseen that regulates all the phases of the project until the conclusion of the works, which will be available for consultation on the Campania Region website. The publication of the tender notice for the design is expected by August 31, 2020, the completion of the works tender by December 31, 2021 while the testing date is scheduled by December 31, 2024."
“We have been following the events of this new hospital for some time. It seems to us that we are finally moving in the right direction.” - the reply of Councilor Borrelli.
“Our struggles in the Giugliano area have meant that citizens will soon be able to have a new hospital.” - was the comment of the Green Councilor of Giugliano in Campania Giuseppe D'Alterio
