In the early hours of this morning, in Castel Volturno, Parma and at the prisons of Santa Maria Capua Vetere and Napoli Secondigliano, the Carabinieri of the Grazzanise Station executed an order for the application of coercive measures, issued by the GIP Office of the Court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office against 14 suspects (1 Italian, 1 Indian and 12 Africans) seriously accused, to varying degrees, including in complicity, of numerous conducts of possession and joint dealing of narcotic substances such as cocaine, heroin and methadone.
The investigative activity is the continuation of a similar investigation - directed by the Prosecutor's Office since December 2017 - which led on November 5, 2018, in execution of a detention order, to the arrest of 11 people, held responsible for the crimes of possession and dealing of narcotic substances. The subsequent investigative segment, the subject of today's precautionary custody order, incorporates the results of the investigations carried out in the period between the issuance of the aforementioned detention order and its execution, preliminary investigations carried out by this Prosecutor's Office and delegated to the Carabinieri Station of Grazzanise.
In particular, an alarming phenomenon of drug dealing was found outside a real estate complex called “Palazzi Grimaldi” – located in the Municipality of Castel Volturno – whose external area is still under seizure. The investigations were conducted through the interception of telephone conversations, the contents of which were also confirmed by the statements made by the buyers, in the identification of the persons carried out by them, as well as through drug seizures, carried out at the conclusion of targeted observation services. It was therefore possible to ascertain the identity of today's suspects against whom a serious, univocal and consistent set of circumstantial evidence was collected, in order to carry out multiple episodes of possession and sale of narcotic substances (identified in a total of 206 cases) to buyers from the province of Caserta and lower Lazio.
The contents of the intercepted conversations, which took place through a cryptic, decoded language (the narcotic substances were indicated by using the terms "white", "black", "stuff", "Italian", "African"), have allowed to ascertain and photograph the ways in which the suspects carried out the illicit activity: indeed, it was possible to trace both the qualitative and quantitative data of the narcotic substance, given that the transfers had as their object packages of heroin and cocaine. The GIP Office of the Court, fully sharing the accusatory system advanced by the Public Prosecutor's Office, both in relation to the serious indications of guilt and the current precautionary needs, has ordered the suspects to be held in prison
