New Year's Eve tragedy in Ascoli Piceno. A 26-year-old man died following a fall in Colle San Marco. According to initial reports, at the stroke of midnight, after fireworks had started a small fire in the brush beneath his home, the young man attempted to prevent the flames from spreading but fell, plummeting at least fifty meters into a rugged area. Those with him immediately raised the alarm, and firefighters and an emergency medical service rushed to the scene. After reaching him with difficulty, they attempted to resuscitate him for a long time, but were unsuccessful. The young man was in cardiac arrest. Unfortunately, around 1:50 AM, his heart stopped beating.
