The resumption of school activities, after the Christmas break, for the San Giovanni Bosco State Comprehensive Institute of the municipality of Volla was characterized by a serious episode of poor hygiene.
As reported to Green Party Regional Councilor Francesco Emilio Borrelli by Mr. Pasquale Langella, the parent of two children who attend the school, classes resumed normally on January 7th until one of the teachers noticed a dead mouse in a classroom. At that point, the class that was supposed to occupy the contaminated classroom was merged with another, and activities proceeded normally. The children even ate lunch inside the school. Only later, upon being informed of the situation, did the Headmaster decide to suspend school activities until January 10th to allow for cleaning and sanitization.
"It is scandalous that during the Christmas holidays no one checked the hygiene conditions of the building and that then the activities resumed as if nothing had happened. It is even more serious that once the body of the mouse was discovered the children spent the entire day at school, in a contaminated environment, touching desks, objects and having lunch. I have asked to verify the responsibility for what happened and it will also be necessary to accept the hygiene conditions of all the institutes in the Vollese area." - declared the Regional Councilor of the Greens Francesco Emilio Borrelli.
