For the ninth year, the AICS (Italian Association for Culture and Sport) is promoting the "Epiphany Dive" event, together with local associations active in environmental protection, with the aim of raising awareness among citizens about the protection and enhancement of the environmental and cultural heritage of the city of Naples. "This is an important moment," explains Professor Alessandro Papaccio, National Director of AICS, "to convey the enormous potential for social and economic development even in neighborhoods considered peripheral, like San Giovanni a Teduccio. The idea behind the initiative stems from the desire to reclaim a fundamental resource for the economic and tourism revival of the Neapolitan coastline; the now well-established encounter with the icy January waters has attracted dozens of sea enthusiasts over the years, who this year too will be taking a dip in the waters off the promenade in the San Giovanni a Teduccio neighborhood. The event will conclude with a convivial gathering. AICS will offer everyone in attendance an opportunity to toast the New Year, accompanied by traditional Christmas sweets.
